Landhuis Bloemhof joins the Curaçao Pride with it’s movie night: Hòfi Cinema, showing local and Caribbean movie productions. For this pride edition the main dish is One Kingdom, One Love, the only feature documentary showing LGBT activists from the Dutch Caribbean.

The program starts with shorts My Maxi and Father Figure.

Marcus is inspired to seek a closer relationship with his outspoken mother and oblivious father. He makes several attempts to reach them during their daily routine, looking for the right opportunity to have a needed but casual chat about his sexual-orientation and journey of self-identity. Eventually, he musters the courage and has a breakthrough. However things take a turn when his over-enthusiastic father takes his new relationship with his son to a whole other level…

What does it mean to be young, black and gay in today’s world? Guilliano is the founding father of The Kiki House of Angels, a vogue dance community in Rotterdam. Most of its members are young black gay men who experience racism and marginalization in everyday life. This filmic, poetic collage expresses their personal stories by combining verité scenes with vogue dance sequences, graphic interludes and intimate interviews.
