As has become our tradition, Landhuis Bloemhof brings you another theme exhibition this summer. Can You See the Music? is an interactive show featuring artwork by various local and international artists from several private collections. This year we chose to use combinations of artwork to ‘spell out’ the titles of popular songs. The interactive part of the exhibition lies in the challenge it presents its viewer: you must identify the titles! You may write your answers on a form and at the end of the exhibition period we will award prizes to those who have the most correct answers. The songs depicted are as varied as the pieces of art we chose to exhibit. In some cases the combinations merely hint at the song’s title, in other cases the song is quite obvious. In any case it is best to bring the whole family – the songs bridge generations of popular music. On display are paintings, sculptures and art objects by amongst others Jaacov Agam, Romero Britto, José Maria Capricorne, Marcel van Duijneveldt, Elena, May Henriquez, Maximiliano Nepomuceno, Enrique Olario, Kiki van Oosterhout, Marlies Schoenmakers, and Ellen Spijkstra. Can You See the Music? opens on Tuesday June 22nd and will be on display until August 7th, 2010. You can visit us at Landhuis Bloemhof, Santa Rosaweg 6, from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm.
