Erwin de Vries presented oil and acrylic paintings, as well as bronze sculptures at his most recent exhibition in Curaçao. He is however also a welknown maker of portraits with clay modeling, which are usually later cast in bronze. In this case Sonia Garmers sat for a portrait. Sonia is Landhuis Bloemhof's hostess, greeting visitors and giving guided tours; she is also a wellknown radio personality, a household tips guru and author of many books.
Quite a few people turned up for the demonstration and were astonished by Erwin's ability to take a lump of clay and mold it into a bust in a matter of just a few hours.
